EuroEDA Limited, a value-added-reseller of
low-cost design automation tools, today announced the addition of PeakVHDL & PeakFPGA,
from Accolade Design Automation to their portfolio of products.
EuroEDA markets & distributes a comprehensive range of EDA tools
including schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB layout, graphical entry and PLD/FPGA
design, from their offices in Kettering, Northants. Founded by former Direct Insight Sales
Director, Duncan Crowther, EuroEDA offers a range of highly complementary solutions that
are sold through a combination of direct mail, telesales, internet marketing & field
sales.
Accolade Design Automation Inc. of Kirkland, WA, was founded in 1994 by
leading HDL industry expert David Pellerin and their Peak tools are sold worldwide, both
directly and through a network of international distributors. Accolade provides vendor
independent solutions for VHDL based FPGA design, and their products now set the standard
for affordable design automation in this field.
PeakVHDL is a high performance VHDL simulation tool that has many
high-end features normally only associated with products that are significantly more
expensive. Aimed at FPGA users, PeakVHDL includes advanced features such as interactive
source level debug, graphical waveform viewing, smart VHDL editing & sophisticated
design management as part of the standard package. IEEE standards 1076 (1987), 1076 (1993)
& 1164 are all fully supported, as are Synopsys extensions and synthesis libraries.
Optional VITAL timing libraries are also offered, permitting accurate post
place-&-route simulation using actual timing data from the target FPGA.
PeakFPGA completes the tool-set providing highly optimized synthesis
for all major FPGA vendors including Actel, AMD, Altera, Lattice, Lucent, Motorola,
Quicklogic & Xilinx. PeakFPGA features tight integration with PeakVHDL, and provides
support for the auto-generation of high-level FPGA macrocells (module inference). PeakVHDL
& PeakFPGA are native 32-bit Windows 95/NT applications, and both single and
multi-user licenses are available. EuroEDAs appointment coincides with new releases
of PeakVHDL & PeakFPGA that offer dramatically improved simulation performance, and
improved synthesis results for the latest FPGA devices.
Commenting on the appointment, EuroEDA Director, Duncan Crowther said:
"We are delighted to be offering Accolades range of VHDL
tools. Our appointment concludes a long search for a suitable product with first class
performance and device support, at a price that makes the technology available to
virtually any user. We are experiencing a rapidly growing interest from our customers in
VHDL design, particularly from FPGA users who are still designing using traditional
schematic entry. Many of these users are now ready to move up to an affordable HDL-based,
vendor independent solution. We feel that the Peak products are exceptionally well placed
to meet this growing demand and are an excellent fit for our sales model."
PeakVHDL & PeakFPGA are available now from EuroEDA Limited.
